Just in the interest of the few people who are reading and/or helping write this site who may not have seen this this yet, I’ll go ahead and only talk about the finale after the jump. Follow at your own risk.

I’ve had a lot of time to think about last night’s finale, in which it was revealed that Starbuck is alive and that Colonel Tigh, Chief Tyrol, Sam Anders and Roslin’s assistant Tory are Cylons. There is a lot of speculations as to how that can be, especially in the case of Tigh who fought in the original Cylon war which took place on Earth and after which the Cylons retreated to their “home world.” Since we know definitively that these 4 are in fact Cylons (RDM himself confirms to Kristin Veitch) we just have to accept it as possible. If the Cylons built the skin jobs, it had to have been toasters doing the work. But somebody or something else could have created/built the skin jobs. Face it, it’s reality.

The other major discussion point is the song. THAT song. As soon as the Chief repeated “there’s got to be some kind of way out of here” there was the “OH FUCK!!” moment where you realize where you’ve heard that before. Then when that moment fades, there was the “Oh. Fuck.” moment where you think someday people will say “had its ‘Watchtower’ moment” instead of “jumped the shark.”

Here’s what I think: TV this good is too rare to give up on. In the 10 month wait for season 4, think about how rad it will be that there are now 4 characters who will know they are Cylons and have to figure out how to deal with it. Did the “flipped switch” moment come with a realization of a nefarious task to carry out within the fleet? Or do the final five not work that way, as the attitude of the original 7 toward them seems to suggest?

Okay, so I just finished watching the finale. (I was a little behind alright) Alls I gots to say is that reveal was pretty rad and I’ve been waiting for Starbuck to come back since she “died.” I was expecting her to wake up in one of those Cylon tanks but we’ll just have to wait and see if she’s the final “hidden” Cylon.

The use of “All Along the Watchtower” is … hmmm. Not good. Very cheeseball. Something that Stephen King would do (see “The Dark Tower”) to connect something fantastical to reality. As they started saying the lyrics I found myself sighing loudly and again questioning whether or not this show is any good (I do this a lot with “Lost” as well).

However Baltar’s lawyer is the best character ever. He better come back next season. And Dean Stockwell. More Stockwell!!
