What I’m watching

People are always asking me “hey Don, how comes youse watch so much TV buddy boy?” (I should stop hanging out with no good punks from the 50s.) I decided I should catalog it for easy reference for such folks. No judging.
What I’m watching (by day)
Sunday
- Desperate Housewives (9pm ABC): I was looking forward to Nathan Filion but so far he’s been wasted. I have no idea why I watch this show except that it is on TV.
- Brothers & Sisters (10pm ABC): Great show.
Monday
- How I Met Your Mother (8pm CBS): Keep in mind this is on at 7pm for me. (Thanks CBS13!)
- Chuck (8pm NBC)
- Heroes (9pm NBC)
- Journeyman (10pm NBC): It’s shot in San Francisco which is a major plus in my book. It is not as cool as “Day Break” (2006) and because of that it probably will last longer than 6 eps.
- The Hills (10pm MTV): I need to start people talking about what a terrible person Lauren Conrad is. If that is her actual personality, I don’t know how she ever gets or keeps friends. MTV has the best online video presence. Downside? It’s MTV.
Tuesday
- House (9pm, FOX): I have only really committed to watching it this season. So far I like it.
Wednesday
- America’s Next Top Model (8pm CW): This show is fierce!
- Pushing Daisies (8pm ABC): I have only started watching the pilot since it conflicts with Top Model, but after the setup I could tell it was fun. I’ll be checking this one out online.
- Dirty Sexy Money (10pm ABC): This is a fun show that I haven’t yet talked about. You can’t miss with Donald Sutherland. Could easily be marketed into an early grave by ABC.
- Project Runway (10pm Bravo): When it comes back in November. What is it about fashion that makes for such fabulous reality competition telvision?
Thursday
- 30 Rock (8:30pm NBC)
- The Office (9pm NBC): Even with PB&J in the house. Although everybody gets sick of PB&J at some point, right?
- Grey’s Anatomy (9pm ABC): Watching this one online. It is like a drug in that it makes me marginally happy while it’s on, depressed after it’s over (from the subject matter, not from having to wait for next week) and I can’t stop doing it.
- Supernatural (9pm CW): Watching it online, although CW revamped their player this season and it now sucks, last year it was swell.
- Mad Men (10pm AMC): The best show on TV, period.
Friday
- Friday Night Lights (9pm NBC)
- Men In Trees (10pm ABC): A great little show. Try it this week and you’ll be hooked.
And don’t forget Saturday
- Night Live (11:30pm NBC): Still makes me laugh, although Seth Rogen’s episode last week was pretty bad.
So that’s pretty much it. There are a few shows I’ll be planning to catch up on later on bittorrent, like “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Reaper,” which inexcusably is not being offered online right now. But until then, this is the list that is clogging up my TiVo.

I saw my first-ever episode of “The Hills” at the hotel gym while out of town — at last, I know who these vapid people are who have been gracing my Perez Hilton and People magazine.
Seriously, these people have no personality or one whit of intelligence or common sense, but why do I now feel compelled to watch more?
Regarding Top Model and Project Runway, have you ever seen any episodes of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style? It’s a great combination of Tim and some of Top Model’s featured players like Benny Ninja.
